Echocardiogram

An Echocardiogram is one of the most non-invasive ways to assess the overall function of your heart.

What is an Echocardiogram?

An echocardiogram (also called an echo) is a type of ultrasound test that measures the function of your heart.

An Echocardiogram can effectively help diagnose physical problems with the heart, such as valve dysfunction, abnormal chamber size, or even congenital heart disease.

During an Echocardiogram, high-pitched waves echo off different parts of the heart. These echoes are turned into moving images of each section of the heart, which are viewed on a video screen.
